Obituary of William E. "Bill" Daugherty William Elmer "Bill" Daugherty, Jr., 71, of Salina, KS and the son of William Elmer Daugherty, Sr., and Lois Evelyn (Garton) Daugherty, was born June 8, 1947 at Superior, NE and passed away on November 1, 2018 at his home in Salina, KS. Bill attended and graduated from Republic High School, Republic,KS and then attended and graduated from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS. Following his education, he served with the United States Air Force for 21 years until his retirement and honorable discharge. After his service, he returned to the Republic County, KS area where worked at Pizza Hut in Belleville and later moved to Salina, KS where he worked at the Green Lantern-later Casey's for several years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Wilma J. Willenborg. He is survived by three brothers, Alan (Karen) Daugherty of San Antonio,TX, Clifford (Kathy) Daugherty of Phoenix, AZ, and Melvin Daugherty of Topeka, KS; One sister Evelyn Daugherty of Topeka, KS; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS with Pastor Roger Walls, officiating. Interment will be at the Union Valley Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS Military graveside rites will be conducted by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 1 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home with the family greeting friends. Memorials are suggested to the Bill Daugherty Memorial.
