Travis Long Obituary

Obituary of Travis Long Travis Gail Long, 34 of Topeka, KS, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 16, 2018 at his home in Belleville, KS. Travis was born December 21, 1983, in Topeka, KS, to Martin and Sandra Sue (Delfelder) Long. He graduated from Seaman High School in 2002 and Ozark Christian College in 2007. He was currently the lead Pastor at Central Christian Church of Belleville, Kansas. He was also the author of Lone Tree Ranch Ministries Blog. Travis formerly served as an interim pastor at First Christian Church of Hartford in Hartford, KS and also works as a para-professional at Robinson Middle School in Topeka. Travis had worked as a youth minister and a camp/retreat speaker and counselor. He had a passion for bullfighting and rodeo and had served as a Chaplain at several youth rodeo camps. He loved sports, hunting, fishing, his blue heeler, Penny, and anything else dealing with God's great outdoors. Most of all, Travis had ultimate love for Christ, and wanted to walk with others in their Christian journey to embrace the Lord. He is survived by his father, Marty Long; sister, Stephanie (Jared) Henke of Kyoto, Japan; four nieces and nephews, Micaiah, Mia, Macy and Matthew; grandmothers, Judy Delfelder and JoAnn Tjelmeland, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Travis was preceded in death by his mother this April; and grandfathers, John Delfelder and Truman Long. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka, KS. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held 7:30 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2018, Central Christian Church, Belleville, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to King Solomon Christian Camp, Camp Renovations c/o the funeral home.
