Royce L Tallent

Royce Linn Tallent, the son of Forrest A. and Dorothy (Gile) Tallent, was born May 9, 1942 in Oakdale, California and passed away March 3, 2025 at the Belleville Health Care Center at the age of 82. 

Royce attended country school in the Courtland, Kansas area and then finished his Junior year of high school at Belleville High School.

Royce was a lifelong truck driver hauling freight for El Dorado Camper Sales and later medical supplies for Mark Clark Industries. Royce completed his career hauling classic cars across the country. He had a love for classic cars. There weren’t many area car shows that Royce missed. Royce even won a few awards at different shows he participated in. 

On November 4, 1963 Royce married Ronda Buchanan and to this union, one daughter was born, Cheryl. The two later divorced. Over the years, the two remarried and were later divorced.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Dorothy Tallent, and one brother Kenneth Tallent and sister-in-law Laveda Tallent.

Royce is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Tallent of Park City, Kansas, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 at 10:30am at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas. 

Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, rural Norway, Kansas.

Friends may sign the guestbook and greet the family, Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 3-5pm at the funeral home.

Memorials can be directed to Cheryl Tallent to be designated at a later time.
