Obituary of Ronda K. Hernandez

            Ronda Kay Hernandez, 66, of Belleville, KS, the daughter of Milton Wallace and Helen (Kittle) Wallace, was born on November 25, 1956 in Garden City, KS and passed away on September 13, 2023 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS.

            Ronda grew up in Tribune, KS, graduating from Tribune High School.   She then attended Sterling College, Sterling, Kansas for 3 years.    Ronda worked in restaurants and convenient stores in Hoisington, Garden City and Tribune, KS.

           She met Paul Hernandez in Hoisington, KS and they were later united in marriage in 1990 in Cimarron, KS.   The couple operated hotels and motels for 19 years, moving to Belleville, KS in 2014 to operate the Plaza Hotel and later U-Haul and Storage.

           Ronda was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Helen Wallace; one brother, Brian Wallace; and infant brother, Robert Wallace

          She is survived by her husband, Paul Hernandez of Belleville, KS; two sons, Dustin Hernandez of Wichita, KS and Kiley Hernandez of Washington, D.C. ; two brothers, Mark Wallace of Chicago, Illinois and Scott Strong-Wallace (Randal) of Wichita, KS;  several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, many cousins, other relatives, and friends.

          Celebration of Life Services will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the University United Methodist Church, Salina, Kansas, 1509 S. Santa Fe Avenue, Salina, KS  67401.

          Inurnment will be held at a later date.
