Obituary of Olaf C. Herrman
Olaf Claes Herrman, 61, of Talmage, KS, formerly of Norway, KS, the son of Eugene Victor and Patricia JoAnn (Ball) Herrman, was born December 8, 1959 in Belleville, Kansas and passed away on December 21, 2020 at the Abilene Memorial Hospital, Abilene, KS.
Olaf grew up in the Norway, KS community, graduating from Scandia High School with the class of 1979. Following his graduation, he served with U.S. Air Force. He attended boot camp at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX and served at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska and Blytheville AFB in Blytheville, Arkansas.
He was united in marriage to Katherine (Steinback) Roehrman and her sons, Terry, Patrick, and Christopher on July 18, 1998. The couple lived in Ramona, KS and currently resides in Talmage, Kansas. Ole worked for the Directorate of Public Works as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator and for the past two years as Environmental Compliance Inspector at Ft. Riley.
Olaf was baptized and confirmed in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Norway, Kansas and attended the Zion Brethren in Christ Church. He also served for many years as a leader and scout master for the Boy Scouts of America.
Olaf was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Herrman, one brother, Harold Eugene Herrman, and one Sister, Doris Beth Herrman.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Herrman of Talmage, KS; 3 sons, Terry ( Mary Jane) Roehrman of New Braunfels, Texas, Patrick (Emily) Roehrman of Iantha, Missouri, and Christopher (Tonya) Elliott of Oak Hill, Kansas; father, Eugene V. Herrman of Norway, Kansas; 15 grandchildren: Sean Roehrman, David Roehrman, Parris Roehrman Maus, Joelle Roehrman, Rhyyan Roehrman, Lilley Roehrman, Malachi Roehrman, Judah Roehrman, Wisdom Roehrman, Naomi Roehrman, Mark Roehrman, Azariah Roehrman, Gabriella Elliott, Erica Roehrman, and Zack Roehrman, 3 great grandchildren: Jade Roehrman, Rome Roehrman, and London Maus; two sisters, Vickie (Gerold) Hall of Scandia, Kansas and Carol (Ronald) McDaniel of Phillippi, West Virginia; three brothers, Howard (Paula) Herrman of Norway, Kansas, Eric (Pamela) Herrman of Chandler, Arizona, and Victor (Laura) Herrman of Skidmore, Missouri; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Norway Cemetery, Norway, Kansas.
Interment will follow the services with Military Graveside Rites by the McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, Kansas.
The casket has been closed. Friends may call to sign the register from 12 Noon until 5 PM on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville. Friends are also invited to mail condolences in care of the funeral home or leave on the funeral home website. Memorials are suggested to Gideons International.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held in the Spring of 2021.
