Mary Kasl Obituary

Mary Ellen Kasl, daughter of Alvin Woodman and Winifred (Whitney) Woodman was born January 29, 1927 at Topeka, Kansas and passed away on April 6, 2012 at Belleville, Kansas at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 7 days. Mary was united in marriage to Ben E. Kasl on December 28, 1942 and to this union two children were born, Michael E and Linda Jo. She was a clerk for the JC Penny Company and the IGA Store both in Belleville, Ks. She was the director of the Belleville Housing Authority and managed both the Grandview and Eastview apartment facilities for many years. She and her husband, Ben Kasl founded and operated the Kasl Christmas Tree Farm. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS. Stardust Study Club, NCK Artists association and had served on the Blair Theatre Board. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Winifred Woodman, husband, Ben E. Kasl, three brothers, Glenn, Bill and Dale Woodman, one sister, Marjorie Hutchinson. She is survived by one son, Michael E. Kasl and his wife Carolyn of Belleville, KS., one daughter, Linda Jo Meierhans of Olathe, KS., three grandchildren, Scott Kasl and wife Laurie, Michel Scott and husband Jeff, Annette Metz, six great grandchildren, Courtney, Tyler, Macee, Mia, Taylor, Mckenzie, two sisters, Arlene Swartzwelder of Robertsdale, Alabama, Norma Nickerson of Olathe, KS., nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Ten Thirty AM, Tuesday, April 10, 2012, First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS., conducted by, Pastor Lennie Maxwell. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS., Memorials may be given to Family Choice Online condolences and information at www.bachelor-surber.com Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS., in charge of arrangements.
