Obituary of Marlin L. Havel
Marlin Lee Havel, the son of Leon E. Havel and Olive E. (Beneda) Havel, was born August 6, 1944 in Belleville, KS, and passed away on June 26, 2019 at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS at the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 20 days.
Marlin grew up on a farm 4 miles west of Cuba, KS, graduating from Cuba High School in 1962. He worked for Turner Sinclair Service, Belleville Telescope, Kasl Tree Service, the City of Belleville, and also as a Deputy during the fair in Belleville. Marlin also farmed and raised hogs and on the farm owned Havel’s Iron Salvage Recycling & Welding. In 1979, he started working for Republic County Highway Department as a Heavy Equipment Operator, retiring in 2007. He currently owned Havel Recycling in Belleville.
On September 22, 1963 at Narka, KS, he was united in marriage to Charlotte A. Hiatt and to this union was born two daughters, Janell and Tricia.
The couple lived west of Cuba, KS on the family farm for many years, moving to Belleville in 1994. They celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary in 2018.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Olive (Beneda) Havel.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte A. Havel, of Belleville, KS; two daughters, Janell A. Hadachek of Belleville, KS and Tricia S. (Jason) Wagoner of Concordia, KS; three grandchildren, Erica A. (Brett) Wilkinson of Salina, KS, Gary C. Hadachek of Lenexa, KS, and Theron L. Wagoner of Concordia, KS; one brother, Erwin (Carol) Havel of Hutchinson, KS; nieces; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Presbyterian Church, Cuba, KS. with Pastor Mark McGregor, officiating.
Interment will be at the Tabor Cemetery, rural Munden, KS.
Friends may call from 1 PM until 8 PM on Sunday at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS with the family greeting friends from 3 PM until 5 PM on Sunday.
