Obituary of Marlene F. Davis

            Marlene F. Davis, the daughter of Erney Kolars and Matilda (Krhounek) Kolars, was born September 11, 1940 in Cuba, Kansas and passed away on October 19, 2020 at the Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 8 days.

            Marlene grew up and received her education at the local public schools of Cuba, Kansas.    On August 7, 1955, she was united in marriage to L. “Buss” Davis and to this union was born seven children, Tena, Jenny, Misty, Nola, John, Danny, and Dory.  The couple made their home in Scandia.   Marlene was a homemaker and later worked outside of the home as a waitress, house keeper and for Scott Specialties in Belleville.

            Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Erney and Matilda Kolars,  her husband, L. “Buss” Davis on December 2, 1998, and one grandson Sawyer White.

            She is survived by three sons, John (Lisa) Davis of Scandia, KS, Danny (Tarry)Davis of Scandia, KS, and Dory Davis of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters,  Tena (Harold) Myer of Belleville, KS, Jenny Bergstrom of Belleville, KS,  Misty (Terry) Goodwin of Phoenix, Arizona and Nola (Duane) Gray of Olathe, KS; 17 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren;  one brother, Melvin (Vickie) Kolars of Belleville, KS; one sister, Janice (Marvin) Brungardt of Cuba, KS; other relatives and friends.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia, KS with Pastor Kathy Aeillo, officiating.

            Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, Kansas.

            Visitation will be from 1 PM until 8 PM, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia, KS.

            Memorials are suggested to the Meadowlark Hospice.
