Lyle Ivan Bergstrom of rural Courtland, KS, son of Ivan W. and Lillian (Hedstrom) Bergstrom was born December 4, 1944 in Concordia, KS and passed away from this life on January 28, 2026.

Lyle attended Kackley Elementary school through the 8th Grade, and graduated high school from Courtland.  On December 22, 1968 he married Doris Mae Dallen of Concordia, KS, and to this marriage 3 sons were born: Shawn Lyle, John Nathanael, and Karl Andrew.

Lyle was a lifelong member of Ada Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.  Serving on countless Committees and Boards, the church was truly one of his life-long passions.  His service on Ada Lutheran Church Council and Peace Parish Council are only a few of the places his talents extended.  Most Sunday mornings past, Lyle could be heard singing bass in the choir.  He was a caring farmer and a skilled handyman, known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help anyone. There was little he couldn't fix, and he believed in the value of honest labor.  Lyle served his country in the United States Army, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving overseas in 1969. Upon return, he continued on the farm, also working in many places including Courtland/Pike Valley School, Coca-Cola, C&W Farm Supply and CVA to name a few.  He will be remembered for his faith, his love of the land, his generous spirit, his work ethic and drive, and the love he poured into his family, community, and country.  His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the values he instilled.

Lyle is preceded in death by his wife Doris, parents Ivan and Lillian, a brother Lorraine Bergstrom, son Shawn and daughter-in-law Dinah (Bollinger) Bergstrom; Sisters-in-law Marie Folsom, Yvonne Klepper, Mary Jane Girard, Anna Lea Cherney, Sondra Dallen; brothers-in-law Jule Folsom, Herb Klepper, David Girard, Carmen Cherney, Dewayne Dallen, and Jerry Waite, Steve Glanzer and Grandson Baxter Green.

Survivors include sons John (Chylo) Bergstrom of Kincaid, KS; Karl (Chris) Bergstrom of Salina, KS.  Granddaughters Corrine (Cort) Peterson of Manhattan, KS; Rayenah Bergstrom of Abilene, KS; and Meara Bergstrom of Hays, KS.  Grandsons Bradyn, Bryce, Brody Bergstrom and Dawson, Thaddeus, Courtlin Green - all of Salina, KS.  Sisters Lorna Waite of Salina, KS; Juanita (Lloyd) Haukom of Lindsborg, KS; and Lenita Glanzer of Randolph, KS. Brother-in-law Farrel (Mary Frances) Dallen of Topeka, KS along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
