Kaye Barrett

Obituary of Kaye Barrett:

     Kaye Barrett, daughter of Roscoe Banister and Blanche (Haynes) Banister was born August 4, 1931 at Traer, Kansas and passed away on February 9, 2020 at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS at the age of 88.

     Kaye was united in marriage to Richard A. Barrett Sr. on August 26, 1951 and to this union two children were born, Richard and Terri.

     Kaye was a member of the United Methodist Church of Republic, KS, United Methodist Women.   She and her husband Richard were house parents of Youthville for ten years.   She was the accompanist for many school programs and funerals for many years, she was a member of the Farmerettes singing group for many years.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Blanche Banister, husband, Richard A. Barrett Sr., daughter in law, Darlene Barrett, two brothers, Durward and Paul.

     She is survived by one son, Richard Barrett Jr. of Wichita, KS, one daughter, Terri (Gary) Ritter of Manhattan, KS, five grandchildren, Christopher Ritter, Heath Ritter, Sabrina Ault, Craig Barrett, Madison Barrett, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one brother, Terry Lee Banister of Mesa, AZ, one sister, Tharen McKee of Broomfield, CO, special friend, AlmaDean Johnson, other relatives and many friends.

     Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2020, United Methodist Church, Republic, KS, conducted by Pastor Lance Rundus.

     Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2020, Downs Cemetery, Down, KS, conducted by Pastor Kathy Aeillo

     Interment will be in the Downs Cemetery, Downs, KS

     Memorials may be given to Kaye Barrett Memorial Fund.

     Friends may call on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 1 PM to 8 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS, where the family will receive friends from

5 PM to 7 PM.
