Josephine Heinze Obituary

Josephine A. (Josie) Heinze was born September 15, 1929 in Vollmar, Colorado to Cecil Clark and Erma (Wooldridge) Clark and passed away May 20, 2025 at Republic County Hospital-ISB at the age of 95.

Josephine attended Brighton High School, Brighton, Colorado before starting her lifelong career of farming in the Brighton area. Farming was a true passion of Josie as she loved to be outside and work the soil. At the age of 70, Josie completed her GED.

Josie farmed for most of her life but her true passion was volunteering. She volunteered anywhere she could but found a special passion for assisting with assembly and odd jobs for the Meals on Wheels program. It wasn’t uncommon for Josie to provide clothes and supplies to anyone who needed help. Josie lived her life as the “Hands and Feet of Jesus”

On September 15, 1951, Josie was united in marriage to Alvin Heinze and to this union was born two children, Jody and Robert.  The family continued to farm and live in the Brighton area until Alvin’s death.

In 2005, Josie moved to Kansas with her son Robert to Clifton and later settled in Belleville, Kansas. Josie made many friends in 20 years.  She volunteered her time with the Golden Belle Haven Senior Center assembling meals helping where she could for the Meals on Wheels program until 2020. This was a true passion of hers and something she enjoyed. Josie was a bright spot in everyone’s day and always made those feel better that she was around.

Josie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin Heinze, and brothers, Cecil and Kenneth Clark.

She is survived by her son Robert Heinze, daughter Jody (Darrell) Wilson, granddaughter Mollie Heinze and twin great grandchildren, Azlin and Raven, other relatives and many friends.

The family selected cremation.
