Obituary of George A. Brzon
George Arthur Brzon, the son of Arthur and Anna (Hanzlick) Brzon, was born July 26,1931 in Munden, Kansas and passed away on February 4, 2025 in Olathe, Kansas at the age of 93.
George grew up on the Brzon farm 1 mile west of Belleville, Kansas. He attended school in Belleville where he was a member of the pep band, high school choir and FFA-livestock judging, graduating from Belleville High School in 1949.
George served with the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Following his discharge, he returned to Belleville and was an active farmer and rancher for several years. He was a 4-H Leader, and a member of the Rural Water Board. He loved music, polka, square dancing, and calling square dances.
He was united in marriage to Beverly Mikesell on November 23, 1951.
George later was united in marriage Una Bachelor on December 27, 1975. The couple moved to Kansas City in 1981.
George and Una took great delight in having Christmas dinners. She would ask the children to be with their spouses and families on Christmas and on the first weekend of January she would have her family Christmas in an event space. It would consist of a full weekend of food and drinks, most of all love and laughter.
Una preceded him in death on September 2, 2023 and George was also preceded in death by his parents; his children, Jan (Jensik) Roe, and Mark Boggs; brother, Loren (Narvine) Brzon; sister, Twila (Lavon) Bowersox, and sister-in-law, Joan Brzon.
George is survived by his children, Greg (Karla) Brzon, Brenda (Terry) Bott, Brad Brzon, Jac (Paula) Jensik, Jamie (Kim) Boggs, and Matt (Connie) Jensik; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Brzon; 10 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Family Graveside Memorial Service and inurnment will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas, with Pastor Kathy Aeillo, officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard, Ft. Riley, Kansas.
A reception for friends and family will be held following the graveside memorial service from 3 PM until 6 PM at the Krazy Kraken, Belleville, Kansas.
