Dorothy Fisher Obituary

Dorothy Mary Fisher, the daughter of Alonzo Fisher and Myrtle Mary (Davis) Fisher, was born February 8, 1922 at rural Belleville, KS and passed away on April 23, 2012 at the Jewell County Long Term Care, Mankato, KS at the age of 90 years, 2 months, and 15 days. Dorothy grew up on the family farm near Courtland, attending Willow Dale Grade School, and later graduating from Courtland High School in 1941. Following her schooling, she assisted with the family farm at rural Courtland, KS for her entire lifetime. In recent years, she had made her home in Mankato, KS. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: LaVerne Fisher and Harry Fisher, and one sister Zetta Brown. She is survived by one nephew: Harold Brown and wife Betty of Courtland, KS and one niece Delores Freed of Wichita, KS; many great and great great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS with Pastor Kathy Aeillo, officiating. Interment will be at the Lake Cemetery, rural Republic, KS. Visitation will be from 9 AM until 9 PM on Wednesday and from 9 AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Jewell County-Long Term Care or Solomon Valley Hospice.
