Obituary of Doris Carlgren
Doris Carlgren, the daughter of Carrol and Gladys (Axelton) Carlgren, was born September 21, 1941 in Concordia, Kansas and passed away on January 6, 2020 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 15 days.
Doris grew up in Concordia, graduating from Concordia High School. She then attended Wichita State University, Wichita, KS receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene.
Doris practiced as a dental hygienist for nearly 40 years, retiring at the age of 75. Doris was always up for an adventure and helping those in need. She enjoyed her many friendships and family.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Carrol and Gladys Carlgren; and one brother, Arthur Carlgren.
She is survived by, one son Dean Wineinger; one step-son, Jeff (Jennifer) Wineinger; three daughters, Lana (Kim) Reyer, Diane (Brian) Wheeler, and Nita (Steve) Nikkel; 10 grandchildren: Jenna (Kyle) Gibb, Kaley Wilson, Trenae (Eric) Wilson, Kelsey (Adam) Spain, Kaleb Wheeler, Emily Wheeler, Blake Wineinger, Eric (Mackenzie) Wineinger, Lauren Wineinger, and Wyatt Reyer; 4 great grandchildren: Karlie, Tate and Maelie Gibb, and Lakin Spain; two brothers, David (Sharon) Carlgren, and Carl Carlgren; other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Norway, KS with Pastor Dennis Beckmann, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Norway Cemetery, Norway, KS.
Visitation with the family greeting friends will be from 10:30 AM until 11:15 AM Saturday at the Norway Community Center, prior to the services.
Memorials are suggested to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Norway, Kansas.
