Clarence Thomas Obituary

Clarence Allen Thomas, the son of Elmer Thomas and Catherine (Simmons) Thomas was born March 11, 1932 at Scandia, Kansas and passed away on June 14, 2012 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Ks at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 3 days. Clarence graduated from Scandia High School and L.A. Barber College. He served with the United States Navy from February 26, 1951 to January 19, 1955, serving in the Pacific-Korean War. He was united in marriage to LaVonne Havel on June 17, 1956 and to this union one daughter Susan was born. He lived in Camarillo, California for many years and after his retirement from the State of California, he and his wife LaVonne moved back to Belleville, Kansas. He was a member of the American Legion, U.S.S. Warrick reunion group. He loved doing things with his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Catherine Thomas, brother and sister in law, Frank and Verla Dell Thomas, sister in law, Patty Thomas, nephew, Roger Thomas He is survived by his wife, LaVonne Thomas of Belleville, Kansas, one daughter, Susan Montague and her husband Jim of Salina, Kansas, two grandchildren, Catherine Lazo and her husband Ernest of Salina, Kansas, Jason Montague of Salina, Kansas, one brother, Carl Thomas of Trinidad, Colorado, nephew, Dennis Thomas, niece, Carla Hargis, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Eleven AM, Monday, June 18, 2012, Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Ks, conducted by, Pastor Roger Walls.
