Clarence Havel Obituary

Clarence B. Havel (Hawk) September 10, 1923 - September 28, 2017 Clarence B. Havel (Hawk) passed away peacefully on Thursday September 28, 2017 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS after suffering a severe heart attack at the age of 94 years and 18 days. Clarence was born September 10, 1923 in Agenda, KS to Joseph W. Havel and Albina Havel. Clarence graduated from Agenda Rural High School in 1941 and joined the Army Air Corp in 1944, as a pilot of the B-26 Marauder for the 444th Bomb Squadron, 320th Bomb Group and flew 42 successful missions from March 1944 to October 1945. Clarence was united in marriage to Mary Alice Huncovsky on August 10, 1946 and to this union two daughters were born, Pamela C. and Sherry M. Clarence began farming after returning from WWII. Farming quickly became a passion and continued through the duration of his life. Clarence served on the Agenda School Board from 1963-1967 as well as the Agenda City Counsel. Clarence was a member of the Clyde VFW Post #7515, Clyde KS and the William Fleming American Legion Post #345, Cuba, KS. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife (of 71 years) Mary Alice Huncovsky , his parents Joseph and Albina Havel, his great grandson, Jesse McCoy, 2 brothers Leon and Glen Havel and 2 sisters Olive Havel Erickson and Laura Havel Kauer. He is survived by his 2 daughters Pamela (Elden) Ninemire of Ozawkie, KS and Sherry (Steve) Anderson of Agenda, KS. Also, 4 granddaughters, 11 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Stacie (David) Higgins of Bella Vista, AR and Jesse (deceased), Joshua, Jacob, Christina, and Joseph McCoy and 3 Step grandchildren Alyssa (Shane) McCoy - Sorosiak, William and Andrew Higgins. Shellie (Andy) Wedman Of Olathe, KS and Clarissa, William and Lily Wedman. Danielle (Andy) LeDoux of Ree Heights, SD and J.W. and Jady LeDoux. Ashley (Cole) Taylor of Osborne, KS and Camrun and Teegun Taylor as well as many other relatives and friends. Clarence truly lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of sharing his military stories with friends and family, watching his crops while checking the fields, and playing cards as often as possible. Clarence will always be remembered for his dedication to his family, his leadership abilities and is unwavering loyalty to this country. Funeral Services will be held at 10AM, Saturday September 30th, 2017, at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS conducted by cousin Troy Trecek. Interment will be in Agenda Cemetery, Agenda, KS. Military graveside honors will be conducted by William Fleming American Legion Post #345, Cuba, KS. Memorials may be given to Clyde VFW Post #7515, Clyde, KS or William Fleming American Legion Post #345, Cuba KS. Friends may call on Clarence Friday from 1pm to 9pm at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville KS where the family will receive friends from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
