Becky A. (Free) Roush

                Becky A. Roush, of Formoso, KS, the daughter of Benjamin Free and Shirley (Kasl) Free, was born May 19, 1965 in Formoso, Kansas and passed away December 14, 2025 at Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, KS at the age of 60.

            Becky attended grade school in Formoso, Kansas and then attended and graduated from Mankato Jr/Sr High School in 1983.  

            In 1983, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Roush and to this union Luke and Sammy were born.   The couple made their home in Formoso, KS. 

            Becky worked at the Lumber Yard in Mankato, Kansas and later for the United Grain Elevators in Courtland, Belleville and Scandia.   She also later worked as a teller at the Formoso Bank and provided Day Care in Jewell, Kansas.

For 20 years, she was the registration clerk at the Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, Kansas.

            Becky was an active community volunteer in Formoso.   She was involved in with Formoso Pride and assisted her husband, Bob, in reading water meters in Formoso for several years.   Becky liked to read, camping, attending concerts, and loved her grandchildren.

            Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Ben & Shirley Free;  her husband, Robert “Bob” Roush in 2025;  brother-in-law’s, Nick Kimes and Richard Roush.

            Becky is survived by her son, Luke (Lauren) Roush of El Dorado, KS and daughter, Sammy (Alan) Sramek of LaCrosse, KS; 5 grandchildren, Weston, Levi and Sadie Roush & Brayden and Emma Sramek;  one brother,  Curt (Jody) Free of Salina, Kansas;  one sister, Cindy Kimes of Harrison, Arkansas;  mother-in-law, Elsie Roush of Nebraska City, NE; brother-in-law, Ron Roush of St. Joseph, MO; nieces and nephews; other relatives, and friends.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, 1322 19th St, Belleville, KS with Randy Whitley, officiating. 

            Interment will follow at the Balch Cemetery, rural Formoso, Kansas.

            Visitation and viewing will be from 1 PM until 7 PM, Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS with the family greeting friends from 5 PM until 7 PM on Friday.

            Memorials are suggested to the Jewell County Hospital or the Formoso Volunteer Fire Department.
