Albert Thomas Obituary

Albert H. Thomas, the son of Frank Thomas and Berdella (Pinkerton) Thomas was born September 27, 1918 at Edgemont, PA and passed away on February 9, 2012 at the Homestead Nursing Home, Washington, KS at the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 12 days. Albert grew up and attended schools in the Malvern, PA area. He served with the US Army during WW II, serving 28 months in the Pacific theatre. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Guymon, OK and the Liberal, KS area where he found farming work. He then moved to work in the Haddam, KS area, working for the Arbuthnot farms. Albert combined and helped with the farming operation near Haddam for many years. He then accepted employment with the City of Haddam, where he worked for the street, water, and cemetery departments from 1961 until his retirement in 1985. Albert made his home in Haddam, KS until just recently when he moved to Washington, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Haddam Cemetery, Haddam, KS with Pastor Randy Jellison-Knock, officiating. Interment will follow the services at Haddam Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to family choice.
