William Daugherty Obituary

William Elmer Daugherty, son of John C. Daugherty and Stella (Wilford) Daugherty was born October 13, 1919 at rural Republic, Kansas and passed away on October 8, 2014 at Belleville, Kansas at the age of 94. He attended Republic Grade School and graduated from Republic High School in 1940. He served with the U.S. Army during World War Two. He was united in marriage to Lois Garton on September 30, 1946 and to this union four sons and two daughters were born. Lois passed away in 1982. He was united in marriage to Donna Sellman. Donna passed away. He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, Republic Elevator and City of Republic. He was a life member of the VFW. He was preceded in by his parents, John and Stella Daugherty, wife, Lois Daugherty, Wife, Donna Sellman, four brothers, Richard, John, Lee, Earl, five sisters, Lucy, Grace, May, Arletha, Ethel. He is survived by four sons, William E. Daugherty Jr. of Salina, Ks., Clifford C. Daugherty of Phoenix, AZ., Alan W. Daugherty of San Antonia, TX., Melvin D. Daugherty of Las Vegas, NV., two daughters, Wilma J. Willenborg of Salina, Ks., Evelyn M. Daugherty of Las Vegas, NV, ten grandchildren, one step granddaughter, thirteen great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Two Thirty, PM, Monday, October 13, 2014, Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Ks, conducted by, Pastor Roger Walls. Interment will be in Union Valley Cemetery, rural Belleville, Ks. Military graveside service by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to United Methodist Church, Republic, Ks. Friends may call on Saturday from 1 PM to 9 PM, Sunday from 1 PM to 9 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Ks where the family will receive friends from 4 PM to 6 PM Online condolences and information at www.bachelor-surber.com Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Ks in charge of arrangements.
