Kenneth Douglas Obituary

Kenneth E. Douglas, age 88 of Macon, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his home.  Born March 23, 1931 in Belleville, Kansas, the son of John Lester Douglas and Bessie Katherine (Goodwin) Douglas.  On January 1, 1955 in Concordia, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Shirley June Thompson who preceded him in death on October 6, 2017.   Also preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Max Douglas, and four sisters, Marjorie, Dorothy, Helen, and Joyce.

Surviving are one son; Kevin Douglas of Columbia, Missouri; two daughters, Sheila Thurman and son-in-law, Terry of Atlanta, Missouri and Judi Turner and son-in-law, Kendall of Clive, Iowa; four grandchildren, Luke Thurman and wife, Amanda, Jerod Thurman, Lauren Wulff and husband, Kaleb, and Chandler Davis, and four great grandchildren, Jude, Ryn, Tyler and Gavin Thurman. 

Kenneth lived most of his life farming in Macon County on what is known as the Buffalo Ranch east of La Plata, Missouri.  He was a good father, husband, and grandfather, and would have given a stranger the shirt off his back.  Kenneth will be greatly missed. 

Inurnment will be in the Belleville Cemetery in Belleville, Kansas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
