Gloria C Nondorf

Obituary of Gloria C. Nondorf:

     Gloria Charlotte Nondorf, daughter of Charles H. Peterka and Kristina M. (Moravek) Peterka was born March 29, 1921 on a farm north and west of Cuba, Kansas and passed away on June 30, 2019 at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS at the age of 98.

     Gloria attended Tabor and Prairie Home Country Schools and graduated from Belleville High School.   She was united in marriage to Orville F. Nondorf on November 2, 1941 and to this union four children were born, Verlee, Kenneth, Vernice and Burton.   They made their home in Belleville, KS and in 1951 they moved to Courtland, KS.   Gloria helped her husband in the grocery store for many years. 

     She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Courtland, KS, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxillary, Kansas State Twin Association and Courtland Art Guild.   Painting was her passion and she painted many beautiful pictures.

     Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Kristina Peterka, husband, Orville F. Nondorf, infant son, Kenneth Charles Nondorf, granddaughter, Staci Lynette Wynn, Sister, Eleanor R. Illingworth, twin sister, Gladys C. Hiatt, son in law, James D. Russell, brother in laws, Elton Illingworth and Leon Hiatt.

     She is survived by two daughters, Verlee C. Russell of Beloit, KS, Vernice C. Nondorf of Belleville, KS, one son, Burton Nondorf of Concordia, KS,  grandchildren, Melisa (Dan) Martin, Jennefer (Scott) Ochwat, Charles (Jena) Nondorf, Eric (Annette) Nondorf, grandson in law, Todd Wynn, ten great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

     Cremation was chosen.

     Memorial services will be held, Two PM, Saturday, July 6, 2019, United Methodist Church, Courtland, KS,  conducted by, Pastor Sandra Jellison-Knock, Pastor Kathy Aeillo.

     Inurnment will be in Courtland Cemetery, Courtland, KS.

     Friends may sign the register book on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 1 PM to 4 PM, at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.

     Memorials may be given to the Gloria Nondorf Memorial Fund.
