Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Homes started in February 1907 in Belleville, Kansas by Frank R. Bachelor and he was joined later in the 1920s by Albert H. Bachelor and George O. Faulkner. In the 1940's the Hampton Funeral home in Scandia, Ks was purchased and also the Lasby funeral home in Chester, Nebraska In 1947 John C. Dart and Robert E. Surber joined the staff and continued the tradition of service to the North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska communities for many years. In 1977 Steven K. Surber joined the staff and with his father Robert E. Surber continued the tradition of our family owned and operated funeral service. 

In 1991 Don Waddington joined the staff and in 2002 John W. Surber joined the staff. The Surber family continues to own and operate Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home's with a tradition of caring professional services. We are locally owned and not affiliated with any out of town corporations or people.  Since 1907,  our funeral home has cared for the families of North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska.
